Report on LS server performance
Hi LS,
Is there any tool to see LS server performance?
I'd like to know how many connections per day, type of connection (WS, http-stream, long-polling...), disconnection, device type, network type, crash,...
LS monitor is to see some real-time info. I need a summary report, daily for example.
Thank you,

Hi tvhnet2013,
I confirm that there is no a specific tool for summary reports. One possible solution would be to enable the logger:
This setting produces monitor rows in a tabular format, easily importable into spreadsheets or database where to proceed with the appropriate sums or statistical calculations (ie. the total number of connections and disconnections occurred in the day, the average number of sessions ...).
You could for example reserve this logger in a distinct and daily log file.
For other statistical information, such as device type etc ... should be collected with custom code inside Adapters, even using the JMX interface, available with Vivace edition of the Lightstreamer server.
Regards,
Giuseppe

Hi tvhnet2013,
I am sorry not being accurate in my previous post. The proposed log settings should be changed in the configuration file: lightstreamer_log_conf.xml (under the "<LS_HOME>/conf" folder).
Thanks for your suggestion about the reporting tool. We will evaluate this proposal.
Anyway, I can anticipate that in the forthcoming version 6 of Ligthstreamer server will contain a renewed and enriched "Monitoring Dashboard" but still with only real-time data.
Regards,
Giuseppe
