That's pretty strange.
I have no compiler errors.
The method is in the right .java file and also in the .class file it is visible.
Obviously the sources are correct.
Do you have a bigger stack trace?
Can you observe the same error on the emulator?
Could it be a sort of caching problem?

Yes, the problem appears in both Nokia and Emulator.
I cannot get any stacktrace because I cannot catch the exception, it is internal within the MIDP library.
The problem doesn't show up on an older MIDP library.

Hello,
I'm really surprised as I have no explanations.
Would you try with a logging library?

I don't have the logging version of the latest J2ME library.

Hi,
I still have no clue on how this could happen. As previously said the method is in its place so that I see no reason why it could not be found. Moreover both the caller and the method are in the same jar.
Did it happen with both MIDP1 and MIDP2 libraries?
would you like to try the debug library?
Note that nextTag method is not from our library, is it used in your code? Did you expect such error?
Maybe the cause is the same.
Since you got the error on the emulator, if possible, can you send me your project and/or the resulting jar that gave the error?
