External deployment
From StockListDemo readme:
.....
Edit the "index.html" and "popup.html" source files. They both call the
"lsPage.context.setDomain" method with a null argument. The argument should
be modified to specify the domain name of the machine that will be running
the Web Server (e.g. "mycompany.com").
I am testing it on my development computer. its full name is computername.domainname.local
How do I specify "mycompany.com" in this case?
-
Im just guessing here, but If its just a test system and doesnt have a FQDN and you dont have an internal DNS server to track local system names then I would just try using the systems IP address.

Read "External deployment" chapter 7.

Hi,
I guess that "domainname.local" should be Ok.
If not you should map on your hosts file a name in the form specified by the readme.
hope that helps.
-
So, you are saying that instead of www.mycompany.com I can specify:
computername.domainname.local?
-
I'm not sure as I have never tried to use a doman different from classics .com .net .it etc., but I can't see a reason why that shouldn't work.
If I understood your environment you should set "computername.domainname.local" as Lightstreamer host and "domainname.local" as domain.
Please give it a try and let us know.

Yes, I have it working. The only thing I had to do is to allow an anonymous access to my test web site.
