Any ideas what might cause this crash?

I have experienced this a couple of times, but I don't have a strong handle on the cause. I am unable to repeat it at will (yet). I will keep trying, but would appreaciate some pointers.

It appears as a JVM bug.
We have never noticed a similar issue before.
As the "scavenger" should be a part of the Garbage Collector, perhaps configuring a different GC algorithm could be a temporary workaround.
